AACF has two programs that assist residents of Cook County to obtain self-sufficiency through the WIA. The Core Direct Placement Program assists walk-in clients with direct job placement services. The Career & Employment Assistance Program (CEAP) provides career planning through workshops, on-the-job training and full-time job placement service. CEAP focuses on client job placement with particular emphasis on those considered "hard to serve". The program provides the following services to clients:
The Career & Employment Assistance Program (CEAP) consists of mandatory one-week job readiness workshops and computer classes followed by job placement assistance. Workshop speakers from local companies and civic organizations present and discuss special topics that are relevant to program participants (i.e., family law, domestic violence, criminal record expungements, etc.).
