WORKFORCE TRAINING PROGRAM
AACF has two programs that assist residents of Cook County to obtain self-sufficiency. The Core Direct Placement Program assists walk-in clients with direct job placement services. The Career & Employment Assistance Program (CEAP) provides career planning through workshops, on-the-job training and full-time job placement service. CEAP focuses on client job placement with particular emphasis on those considered "hard to serve". The program provides the following services to clients:
- Skills, needs, and interest assessment
- Career counseling and guidance
- Life and job readiness skills training
- Interviewing and resume writing preparation
- Development of realistic goals
- Matching client profiles with available jobs and job placement
- Transitioning into newly acquired jobs
- Case management and follow-up service
The Career & Employment Assistance Program (CEAP) consists of mandatory one-week job readiness workshops and computer classes followed by job placement assistance. Workshop speakers from local companies and civic organizations present and discuss special topics that are relevant to program participants (i.e., family law, domestic violence, criminal record expungements, etc.). The four-week curriculum includes sessions on:
- Orientation, assessment and testing
- Job Readiness Skills (i.e., resume preparation, interviewing skills, completing job application, etc.)
- Life Skills (i.e., coping skills, money management, building self esteem, childcare, transportation, etc.)
- Interpersonal Skills (i.e., relationship building, workplace communication, conflict resolution, etc.)
- Computer Based Skills (i.e., Microsoft Word and Excel, Microsoft Windows, Internet navigation)
VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMS
KAMITH offers vocational training program in Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Pharmacy Technician, Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class C, Technology and Customer Service, Microsoft Office applications, Food Handlers Card, and Entrepreneurship. Technology and Customer Service
- Includes Microsoft Office Suite Certification and professional development training. Followed by paid internships and job placements.
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)
- Integration of skills and concepts with hands-on labs and clinicals. Classroom training is virtual. Covers cost of license exam fee.
Pharmacy Technician
- Virtual training. Covers cost of license exam fee.
Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class C
- Provide CDL Class C training and licensure.
Computer Business Skills
- Online training and certification.
Computer Office Skills
- Online training and certification.
Food Handlers Card
- Training provided. Free of charge.
Entrepreneurship
- Online Entrepreneurship training and certification.
Summer Youth Program
- Includes paid, virtual Youth Employment Workshop with professional development, resume and interviewing workshops, guest speakers, and field trips. Followed by paid internships and job placements.
